Swedish Massage
The purpose of Swedish massage is to increase oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles.  It involves the use of kneading, stroking, friction, tapping, and vibration and provides relief from stiffness, numbness, pain, and other health problems.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It helps to loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. It is both corrective and therapeutic. It is beneficial for many physical problems, including sports injuries and chronic pain. It also helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue.

Sports Massage

Sports massage focuses on muscles relevant to the event. For athletes who train continuously, the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed for recovery. Prior to an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used in conjunction with stretching to help athletes loosen, warm and prepare their muscles to increase performance and endurance. Following an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used to relieve pain, prevent stiffness, and return muscles back to their normal state. Sports Massage may also be used for injury rehabilitation.

Pre-Natal Massage

Pre-Natal Massage focuses on the mother-to-be as she goes through the changes due to pregnancy. This is not a replacement for medical care, but rather as an adjunct to aid in the health and rapid recovery of the mother. Pre-Natal massage therapy enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy has been found to be highly effective for physical pain resulting from a soft tissue injury, such as a muscle strain. It involves alternating levels of concentrated pressure on areas where there is muscle spasm or trigger points. This process tends to relax the muscles, which then release the lactic acid and allows the muscle to start receiving enough blood and oxygen. The goal of Neuromuscular Therapy is to bring balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system.

Reflexology

Simply put, reflexology is an ancient Chinese technique that uses pressure-point massage on the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the entire body. By applying pressure to a specific part the body it will naturally begin to heal itself. Desired long-term effects of reflexology include reduced stress and induced relaxation, feeling of increased energy, relief from acute and chronic conditions, relief from stress related conditions, cure for sleeping disorders, sports injuries, preventative therapy, improvement of mental alertness, stimulation of creativity and productivity, and improving inner-relationships between body systems.

Tri-Specific Massage

Being a triathlete puts major strains on the body mentally and physically.  We understand where that tension and soreness is. Let someone that understands, relieve your legs from a long bike or tension in your arms from a long swim day. We will include stretching, as well as mobility that you can do at home to improve each of your skills.

Teen Athlete Massage

Therapeutic sports massage for teen athletes focuses on treating soft tissue aches, pains and injuries that are associated with recreational activities. As parents of active teens, you want your child to excel in their activities and achieve performance at their maximum ability. Massage involves applying mechanical pressure to the soft tissues, and this can result in improved muscle flexibility, increased range of motion in joints and decreased muscles stiffness.

At Tri Bodyworks we recognize the importance of soft tissue care in these young athletes We believe that massage is just one component- along with strength training, athletic training and conditioning- of the teen athletes training regimen to stay in top physical form. Because we include the teens family during every session (required if they are under the age of 18), we educate the athlete and parent with at home self care that can be used daily as preventative measures.
